Why Clarben Makes a Difference

About the Product

Octacid® is the 37% phosphoric acid from Laboratorios Clarben, thixotropic and with an optimal viscosity that prevents it from spreading onto the tooth or exposed tissue. Laboratorios Clarben offers the widest range of etchants on the market.

Uses

  • Cleaning away plaque, calculus or any debris on the teeth.
  • Surface preparation before restorations.
  • Fluoride treatments.
  • Reshaping, finishing and polishing of the surface after restoration.

Performance

It dissolves plaque and calculus layers, leaving the dentinal tubules open, and etches dentin and enamel in 15 to 20 seconds. It rinses off completely and easily with water, leaving no residue. Available in blue and green.

Octacid in a single 12 g syringe, with 10 ultra-fine pre-curved metal tips for better dispensing.

  • Phosphoric acid
  • Pre-curved cannulas

Applications

Acid etching of enamel, dentin and cement: direct pulp capping, pulpotomy, filling of wide canals and tooth cleansing.

Technical Specifications

37% phosphoric acid with gelling excipients that provide thixotropic properties; blue/green dye for easy visualization of the application. Class IIa Medical Device. Presentation: 1 x 12 g (9 ml) syringe with 10 tips.

Benefits

Thixotropic viscosity for precise application and control of the etched area.

Instructions for Use

Isolate the tooth and dry it thoroughly with oil-free compressed air. Apply the gel to the prepared tooth: recommended etching time of 15 seconds on enamel and 10 seconds on dentin, not exceeding 60 seconds. Rinse with plenty of water and, depending on the adhesive system, leave the surface moist or dry it. Etched enamel should look chalky; if not, reapply the gel for another 20 seconds and rinse again.
